Theodore H. Prout, affectionately known as Teddy to his family and friends, passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 71. He was born to the late Roger T. Prout and loving Virginia Powell on August 14, 1953, in the heart of Boston, MA. Teddy lived a full and vibrant life in the city that he loved. His departure from this world occurred peacefully in Boston, the place of his birth.
As a young man he attended Brighton High School, work for The Polaroid Corporation for several years and worked as a delivery driver for multiple companies. Teddy carried the lessons learned and friendships made throughout his entire life. Teddy's life was characterized by his funny, loving, and adventurous spirit. Teddy's love for life was evident in his passion for photography, music, and sports, particularly his unwavering support for the Boston Celtics. His enthusiasm for sports was a rallying point for many lively discussions.
Teddy is survived by a loving family, including his mother Virginia Powell, sisters Carla Kelley (deceased), Janice Quinones, and Regina (Jeannie) Prout; his children Roger Royster, Tiffany Choice, Anthony Espino (deceased), Tyler Choice and a host of grandchildren, nephews, cousins and friends. Each of them was touched by Teddy's love, humor, and zest for life, and they will carry forward the legacy of his adventurous spirit.
As we bid farewell to Teddy, we celebrate his life. He will be remembered as a man who made us laugh and who embraced adventure at every turn. His photographs, his soulful music collection, and the memories of shared sports triumphs and defeats will continue to be treasured by all who knew him. Farewell, Teddy, your legacy will continue to inspire laughter, love, and adventure in the hearts of all you have touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Church, 101 Wales St., Avon, MA 02322 on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 from 9:30 to 11am.
