Theodore F. Starkey

Theodore "Ted" Starkey, 57, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the Reading Hospital. Born in West Reading, PA, he was the son of Franklin Starkey and the late Rita (Reed) Starkey. Ted graduated from Holy Name High School and attended Alvernia University. He was employed as the manager at Fine Wine & Good Spirits for 35 years, last working in June of 2025.

Ted was a huge Philadelphia Flyers fan. He will be remembered for his time shared with his Holy Name sports teammates with whom he ran track, threw shotput, and played basketball. Ted had a playful, teasing humor that he shared freely, bringing smiles to many days.

Left to treasure his memory are his father, Franklin Starkey; sister, Jennifer Smith; nephews, Riley and Ian Smith; aunt, Regina Gehris; and uncles: Ron, Rusty, Robin, and Rick Reed.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading.
