Theresa A (Constance) Desormeaux, age 93 of Gouverneur went to be with our Lord on October, 1, 2025, at Gouverneur Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 1, 1932 in Cape Vincent, NY the daughter of Lionel and Anna (Connie) Constance. Theresa attended Scotch Brook Country School until the 5 th grade and then transferred to the newly established Cape Vincent Central School graduating in 1950. After graduation Theresa attended Watertown School of Commerce. She then went to work for Knowlton Brothers in Watertown where she was a Cost Clerk and Receptionist. On November 22, 1952 Theresa married Albert R. Desormeaux of Antwerp. They moved to Gouverneur in 1953 where they operated their dairy farm along with their 7 children for 60 years.

While raising her 7 children Theresa volunteered her time in the community. She served on the

Home Economics Advisory Board and 4-H Committee for Cornell Cooperative Extension of St.

Lawrence County. For many years Theresa was a 4-H Club Leader for the Sommerville

Beavers and taught many projects (cooking, sewing, cake decorating, gardening, dog

obedience and leadership) to 4-H club members. Theresa served as President for one year and

Director for many years of the Gouverneur Hospital Auxiliary and was a Life Member.

Theresa was an active Communicant of St. James Catholic Church where she volunteered for

many fund-raising projects and spent many hours working at St. James Outreach and Food

Distribution Centers.

Theresa enjoyed attending the sporting and school events of her children, grandchildren and

great grandchildren. As well as bowling, golfing, reading and gardening. She also enjoyed the

many International and Domestic vacations she and Albert took together. Theresa particularly

enjoyed large family dinners, playing cards with her children, grandchildren and great

grandchildren, and spending "Sister's Weekend" each year with her sisters, Beth and Sarah.

Theresa will be fondly remembered by her family as a loving Mother and Grandmother, easy to

talk to and kindhearted.

Theresa is survived by her loving Husband Albert, 7 children; Deborah (Michael) Bates, Diane

Desormeaux of Concord Township, Ohio, Daniel Desormeaux, Donna (Michael) LaRock ,
