Theresa G. Jakubauskas

AUBURN___Theresa G. (Juska) Jakubauskas of Auburn passed away on May 22, 2025 at home with family by her side. She was born on May 27, 1949 in Munich, Germany after her family temporarily settled there in order to escape World War II and the Eastern Front. She emigrated with her parents, Viktor Juskowiak and Terese Juska-Juskowiak, to Worcester, MA in 1951.
Theresa leaves her husband of 52 years, Raymond Jakubauskas of Auburn: her daughters, Vilia Jakubauskas of Auburn; Rima Jakubauskas and her husband, Bryn Ballard of Reading, England; a brother, Casimir Juska – Juskowiak and his wife, Alka of West Boylston; a sister, Bernadette Caricchio and her husband Vincent of Bellingham; her cousin, Aldona Sarkauskas; her cousin, Vitas Sarkauskas and his wife Jeanie; her cousin, Mary Jurgel and family plus many nieces and nephews and many friends who loved her. Theresa was a graduate of the Salter School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. She worked at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette business office, Memorial Hospital Blood Bank and finally at the Massachusetts Department of Social Services until her retirement in 2006.
Theresa was very active in the Worcester Lithuanian-American Community. She was a lifetime member of the Lithuanian Girl Scout Association where as an adult, she held various leadership positions. She was a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society – Maironis Park, where she served 12 years as a recording secretary and later as a kitchen manager. She was a member of the former St. Casimirs Parish.
The funeral will be held on Friday May 30, 2025 from DIRSA - MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. John Church, 40 Temple St, Worcester. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour in the funeral home will be Friday May 30, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM before the Mass, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to VNA Care Hospice, 67 Millbrook St, Worcester, MA 01606.
