Theresa LaTorre

QUEENSBURY- Theresa LaTorre, 98, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born in Jay, New York, she was the oldest child of Fred and Nora (né Stanley) Brousseau. The family moved to Schenectady in 1941. She married her husband Peter in 1947, had two children and lived in Rotterdam, New York.

During her lifetime she attended Spencer Business School and obtained her license from Europa Cosmetology School in 1977. She participated in many community services including church soup kitchens, bingo events, and aided the Salvation Army during the holidays.

Theresa found joy with all sorts of craft activities, home decorating, puzzles, baking and flower gardening. Most of all she loved visits to and from her family and friends. She was a kind and caring person with a great sense of humor.

In 2007 Theresa moved to Queensbury, New York to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.

She is survived by her two children, son, William (Susan) LaTorre of Lyman, Maine and daughter, Deborah (Gary) Mineconzo of Queensbury, New York. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her husband in 1993; her siblings, brothers Albert Brousseau and his wife, Mary of Schenectady, and Fred Brousseau and his wife Kathleen of Slingerlands; her sister, Celine Brousseau of Schenectady; her brothers-in-law, Anthony (Lillian) LaTorre and Louis (Marie) LaTorre; and her grandnephew, Tyler Brousseau.

The family wishes to thank the many home care aides and all the D wing staff of the Fort Hudson Nursing Center who assisted her in her last challenging years. Her NP, Nicole Humiston, was invaluable.
