Theresa D. Nelson, 100, passed away at Arcadia Senior Living Center in Pace, Fl on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was born on October 30, 1924, in Douglas County, MO to Claude Swearengin and Wilma Williams Swearingen. She was the widow of Oscar Nelson, and she was a member of St. Mark Methodist Church in Aberdeen where she sang in the church choir. Prior to her retirement, she had worked building military transport aircraft during World War II, and later she was owner/operator of Nelson’s Bakery on Main Street in Aberdeen. Her hobbies included playing bridge.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
She is survived by her son, David Dungan (Nina), Milton, FL; daughter, Greta Baker (Keith); her grandchildren, Jed, Ryan, and Rachel; and great grandchildren, Phebe, Oliver, Kristie, Brinnly, Cameron, William, and Henry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Dennis Dungan; brother, Gene Swearengin; and sister, Dorothy McKay.
