In Loving Memory of Theresa Rose
October 13, 1933 – August 20th, 2025
Theresa Rose, 91, passed away peacefully, on August 20th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, on October 13, 1933, the daughter of Earl and Annette Sadler.
Theresa married the love of her life, Roland Rose, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and warmth. In 2000, they followed their daughter to Maine-a place they quickly came to love and call home.
Theresa had a vibrant spirit and a heart full of kindness. She enjoyed needlepointing, tending to her plants and flowers, and going shopping. She enjoyed passing time by doing word searches and reading mysteries. One of her favorite authors was Mary Higgins Clark. Dancing was also one of Theresa's passions. Her favorite band was the Bee Gees; and she would never miss an opportunity to dance the night away if she got the chance.
Theresa always kept a clean home. She was very particular about the order of her home; and found immense joy in doing so. Fall and spring cleaning were staples in Theresa's home; she made it a point to deep clean each room at the change of those seasons.
Theresa was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society for several years. She also loved playing a family card game "Sorry" with her family and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was always spending time with her family.
Cooking was Theresa's ultimate love language. No matter the hour, she was always ready to prepare a home-cooked meal for her loved ones. A sign in her kitchen read, "Grandma's kitchen is never closed"-a sentiment that perfectly captured her generous heart and welcoming nature.
Cooking was never a chore for her. She found much enjoyment in cooking and baking. New Year's Day was never complete without a slice of Nana's meat pie.
She dedicated many years of her life to hard work and caring for others; first as a house cleaner and later as a lunch lady at the Alfond Center. Theresa remained active and independent, caring for her own home until the very end.
Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband Roland and her parents, Earl and Annette. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Steele, and her son, Michael Cordeiro and his wife Vicky; son-in-laws, Nick Steele, and Brian Long; her beloved grandchildren: Lindsey and her husband Andrew Barnett, Jessica and her husband Randy Brown, Elijah and his wife Sally Steele, Kerry and her husband Patrick Lagross, Jeff Howell, Lollie and her husband Mike, Adam, Asher, and Svea; her cherished great-grandchildren, Donna Jo and husband Nick, and Alexis; and two adored great-great-grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by her dear friend and neighbor of 17 years, Lena, as well as Stan, her faithful cab driver and friend who made sure she had everything she needed.
Theresa Rose was a beautiful soul whose legacy of love, warmth, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A funeral service will be on September 12th at 11am at Kingdom Life Church 191 High Street, Oakland, ME 04927. Afterwards there will be a gathering at Waterville Elks 76 Industrial Street,
Waterville, ME at 1pm.
