Theresa Marie Simons, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 20, 2023. She was born on May 18, 1961, in Ames, Iowa to Richard and Jacqueline (Hoffman) Lang.
Theresa lived a life filled with love, laughter, and joy. She married the love of her life, Nick Simons, on August 18, 1984. Their marriage was a testament to commitment and devotion that inspired those around them. Together, they created a beautiful family and shared countless precious memories.
Theresa treasured her role as a mother and was deeply involved in her children's lives. She leaves behind three children who were the center of her world: Ryan, Jake and Sara. Theresa's dedication to her children was unwavering and she relished every opportunity to nurture and support them.
Aside from being a dedicated wife and mother, Theresa was an avid reader. She had a passion for shopping and was known among her friends and family as a certified maxxinista. She also cherished her time with her friend groups. She always had fun on her trips with the R.E.D.S. (relaxing, eating, drinking, shopping), and loved spending nights with Fiona's Flamingo Girls - if you know, you know!
Nature held a special place in Theresa's heart as she enjoyed taking peaceful walks outdoors or simply sitting on her front porch taking in the beauty surrounding her. Traveling was another passion of hers that allowed her to expand her horizons and explore many wonderful places.
Theresa is survived by her beloved husband, Nick Simons, of Grimes, Iowa, who stood by her side through thick and thin, offering unwavering love and support and her children, Ryan (Jessica) Simons of Des Moines, Jake (Tessa) Simons of Urbandale, and Sara Simons of Ankeny; whom will forever carry the love and wisdom she imparted to them.
Theresa is also survived by her father Richard Lang of Ames, Iowa, and her mother Jacqueline Lang of Greensboro, North Carolina. She leaves behind cherished memories with her sister Barbara Hutchison of Charleston, South Carolina; sister Monica Lang of Urbandale, Iowa; brother Tom (Linda) Lang of Jacksonville, Florida; sister Veronica Briley of Ankeny, Iowa; and nieces and nephews Megan Hutchison, Allison and Marshall Lang and Kyla Jones, Amber Starr and Blake Briley.
