Theresa Catherine Pomillo Steinhauser, 98, daughter of Catherine Genevieve Pillion Pomillo, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 30th in Hilton Head, SC.

Terry grew up in Morristown, NJ surrounded by extended family who provided her with endless stories she loved sharing throughout her life. After modeling in NYC for a short while, she began work for Sandoz Pharmaceutical, where she met her husband, Erich Francis Steinhauser of Newark, NJ. They moved to Summit, NJ with their children in 1960.

Terry became a realtor in 1962. She enjoyed a career of work and friendships spanning over 35 years, opening Summit Stonehouse Reality in 1980. She was involved in many charities and causes and was most passionate about her advocacy to protect the rights of underage girls. Her determination landed her as a guest on Good Morning America.

In 1997, Hilton Head, SC became a permanent residence for Terry and Erich and the years were filled with grandkids, family and friends visiting back and forth.

Having to put down the needlepoint canvases, paint brushes, and knitting needles, Terry continued to enjoy reading, staying up on current affairs, Kevin's cooking, and loved receiving photos of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her 3 children, E. Kevin Steinhauser of Hilton Head, SC, Debbie Steinhauser Terlizzi of Boonton Township, NJ and D. Gregory Steinhauser of Point Pleasant, NJ; Her daughter law, Peggy Steinhauser and son in law, Louis Terlizzi; Her beloved grandchildren, Catherine LaMagdelaine, Daniel Terlizzi, Jennifer Steinhauser, Ellen LoBiondo, Claire Steinhauser and Grace Kinsella; and her 5 great grandchildren.

We will miss her, but dancing, Dean Martin, laughter and endless stories of life with Grammy / Gma will continue to be shared.

"We had a lot of fun."

Celebration of Life followed by a luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Conservatory of the Madison Hotel: 1 Convent Road Morristown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Osprey Village Thrift Store, Hilton Head, SC, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in honor of Terry Steinhauser.
