Therese Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Home - Mantua on Jun. 22, 2024.
Therese J. Smith "Terri" (nee Fearon), age 69 a beloved Wife, Mother, Grammie, sister, aunt and faithful friend, passed peacefully on June 21, 2024, surrounded by her husband and children. Raised in Sewell and Mantua growing up, Terri graduated from Clearview High School in the Class of 1972 and married her high school sweetheart on February 2, 1974, Daniel N. Smith Sr. Together they shared a beautiful journey of 50 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A woman of many talents and skills, Terri was known for her perfectionist nature, and her immaculately clean house which was always decorated to perfection based on the holiday or season. Jokingly refered to as "Eagle Eye", her attention to detail (crooked picture frames/ paint colors, etc.) was unsurpassed. She was a phenomenal cook, who has some recipes no one has been able to duplicate (we believe she purposely kept some details/ingredients to herself).
She enjoyed a love for travel, especially to Maui, HI, where she visited "23" times, most recently in February to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. Terri dedicated two full bedrooms in her house to working on her crafts, and particularly enjoyed her collection of Stampin' Up, Toll painting, sewing, etc. Her home showcased her creativity. Terri was also the ultimate organizer; if she had something, it has a container, a specific label, and it's likely color coordinated to the season or holiday. Her passion for family extended to her role as a doting Grammie to her four grandchildren – Kaylee, Suzee, Lexi, and Maddox – whom she adored spending time with and showering with affection (and gifts, constantly buying them things).
Terri was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Mantua and actively participated in the Eve Circle women's group. She found joy in giving back to her church community - always cooking, baking, or supplying donation boxes and holiday meals to those in need.
Terri is survived by her loving husband of 50 yrs, Daniel N. Smith Sr.; her children, Kimberly and husband, Douglas Wagner, and Daniel Jr. and wife, Cristina Smith; grandchildren, Kaylee and Suzee Wagner, Lexi and Maddox Smith; siblings, Lynne Raws, Doug (Cindy), Steve (Bonnie), Rob (Denise), and Jeff (Jodi) Fearon; brother-in-law, Robert C. Smith III (Patti); and sister-in-law, Carlene Visalli. Also by many extended family and longtime friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Gloria Fearon, sister, Suzanne Fearon, and brothers-in-law, Charles Visalli and Art Raws.
Family and Friends are invited to visit from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, New Jersey 08051 and Monday, July 1, 2024 from 9:00am to 11:00am. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 1, 2024, with burial to be private at Wenonah Cemetery in Mantua, NJ 08051.

In high school we were supposed to sell Zitner chocolates but Terri and I ate most of them! Every Easter since then, we still buy and eat a chocolate egg
