Thida Kol

Thida Kol of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, surrounded by her family, friends, and loved ones after a year-long battle with lung cancer.

She was born on June 17, 1954, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. In August 1980, she came to the United States as a refugee, fleeing war-torn Cambodia in search of safety and hope. Through faith, perseverance, and strength, she built a meaningful life and became a cherished member of her community.

Thida attended the Community College of Rhode Island and dedicated her life to serving the Southeast Asian community. Her kindness, generosity, and loving spirit touched many lives. She was deeply involved in her local Buddhist temple for many years, faithfully giving her time and resources to help others.

In her final hours, Thida accepted Christ, finding mercy and peace in His love and God's promise of eternal life, trusting that she is now at rest in His presence.

She will be remembered as a loving stepmother, sister, grandmother, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Thida had a compassionate heart and a deep desire to help and service others.

Funeral services will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM.
