Thoa Thi Nguyen, aged 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 13, 2024, in Minnetonka. Born in Vietnam on December 23, 1945, Thoa, her husband Tinh, and their four children fled Vietnam during the fall of Saigon in 1975 and made Minnesota their home. Devoted to her Catholic Faith, Thoa was known for her kind, funny, and hardworking nature, traits that endeared her to many. She was very caring and generous and the door to her home was always open as well as her heart.
Throughout her career, Thoa was a dedicated employee at Honeywell/Alliant Techsystems, where her diligence and commitment were greatly valued until she retired after nearly three decades of service. Her love for traveling, cooking, and spending cherished moments with her children and grandchildren filled her life with immense joy and satisfaction. Thoa will be lovingly remembered, and her loss will be deeply felt by all those that knew and loved her.
Thoa is survived by a loving family: Daughter, Van Craine (Richard Craine); Son, John Nguyen; Daughter, Dzung Nguyen (Tim Forstad), Daughter, Kasey Kier (Rich Kier) and grandchildren; Tatiana Craine (Pete Walters), Parker Craine, Emma Forstad, Ally Forstad, Zachary Kier, and Alex Kier. Her husband, Tinh Nguyen, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 4-7 PM at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W 50th St., Edina, MN 55436. A service is scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Anne-St. Joseph Hien Church, 2627 N Queen Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55411. A private burial will follow for the family at Gethsemane Cemetery, 8151 N 42nd Ave, New Hope, MN 55427.
Thoa's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her passion for life, and the joy it brought her to share her exquisite Vietnamese cuisine with family and friends, leaving lasting memories and a full stomach for all who knew her. www.Washburn-McReavy.com
