Thomas Almendarez III, 75, of Krugerville, TX, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 in Denton, TX. Tommy was born May 10, 1950 in Falfurrias, TX to Thomas Almendarez, Jr. and Alicia Garza. Thomas married Ofelia Garcia in Addison, TX on June 13, 1970, and they celebrated fifty-five wonderful years together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Tommy cherished his family to the fullest and loved to laugh and share memories. Never meeting a stranger, he was always willing to lend a hand and never expected anything in return. He will be greatly missed by many. Tommy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and anything that allowed him to be creative with his hands. He never shied away from hard work. When he relaxed, he enjoyed watching Westerns of all kinds. Tommy is survived by his wife, Ofelia of Krugerville, TX; daughter, Marta Bessire and husband Joel of Krugerville, TX; two grandchildren, Brian and Jacob Bessire; brother, Homer Almendarez of Krugerville, TX; two sisters, Lisa Garza and husband Gilbert of Brownsboro, TX and Roxie Almendarez of Carrollton, TX; brother-in-law, Ruben Garcia and wife Leslie of Red Oak, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; mother, Alicia; two sons, Jose Thomas Almendarez and Samuel Almendarez; and three brothers, Rudy, Mario, and Johnny Almendarez. Visitation will be held 6:00PM-7:00PM, Friday, July 25, 2025, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX. The service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX. Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center.
