Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Clay, 84, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Denton, TX. He was born December 13, 1940, in Okemah, OK, to Curtis Lee and Hazel Charlene (Crook) Clay. Gerald married Mary Barbara Hayden July 25, 1964, in Lexington, KY. He served in the US Navy for four years.
Gerald is survived by his wife Barbara Clay of Savannah, TX; daughter, Beth Anne Fisher and husband Perry of Little Elm, TX; son, Wayne Lee Clay and wife Shannon of Frisco, TX; seven grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Burton, Lauren Abigail Burton, Connor Ray Burton, Jackson Curtis Clay, Addison Nicole Clay, Avery Frances Clay, and Zachary Ty Vaughn and wife Lauren; and five great grandchildren.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Hazel and two brothers, Johnny Lee Clay and Jimmy Dale Clay.
Services for interment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery are pending at this time. Online condolences may be shared at www.slaymemorialfuneralhome.com
