Frances Irene Walling, 97, passed away Thursday October 2, 2025, in McKinney, TX. She was born July 1, 1928, in Harrold, TX, to Irving Francis and Alice Irene (Showers) Allen. Frances married Billy Joe Walling February 21, 1947, in Dallas, TX. She worked as a secretary for the Senior Citizens center in East Dallas as well as the Dallas Community College system. Frances was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She volunteered as a Den Mother for her son's Cub Scout troop. She was very interested in family history and assembled a great deal of information on both the Walling's and Allen family trees. She enjoyed riding along with Billy in the cart around the Lake Kiowa golf course. Frances enjoyed traveling the country. Some of her favorite places were Hawaii, Alaska, and the California Redwoods. She loved sewing, quilting, needlepointing and crocheting. She made hundreds of stuffed toys that were donated to children at the Gainesville hospital. Frances was very active in the Quilting and Women's Club at Lake Kiowa. Frances is survived by one son, Lyndsey Walling and wife, Marie of Harrisburg, PA; two grandchildren, Shawn Walling and wife, Karlee and Lauren Walling; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Addison, and Owen; sister, Joy Fulcher and husband, Charles of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Walling; parents, Irving and Alice Allen; son, Allan Joe Walling; and four brothers, Alfred, Marvin, Glen, and Warren Allen. Visitation is Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX, from 12:30PM to 1:30PM with a graveside service to follow at 2:00PM at Pilot Point Community Cemetery in Pilot Point, TX.
