Mr. Thomas D. "Tots" Aloi died after a short illness, at home on July 2, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 85. Tommy was born on June 2, 1931 in Cortland, NY. to Santo D. And Concetta Aloi. He was a graduate of Cortland High School. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force, having been honorably discharged in 1952. For many years, Tommy owned and operated Aloi's Fruit Market on Port Watson Street, Cortland. After moving to San Antonio, Tommy managed a restaurant for many years before his retirement. His children remember him as a hardworking, yet gentle man, who instilled in them the importance of hard work and perseverance. Tommy is survived by his children; Diana T. Aloi of Pitcher, NY, Thomas J. (Chick) Aloi of Dallas, TX, Santo D. Aloi of Centre, AL and Frances A. (Brad) Havington of Port Orange, FL, his twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear friend Teri Uhls. He is preceded in death by; his father and mother Santo D. and Concetta Aloi of Cortland, brothers Milton, Frank, Nicholas, and Anthony, sisters, Grace Galiso, Mary Popa Page and Mary Lamacchia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Other friends who survive him include; Dennis Chapman, Debra Briseno, Donna Hastings, and Joe Martin, all of San Antonio, Texas. Tommy loved to fish and dance and at one time managed a local band named, The Rhythm Rocks in the late 60s and 70s. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. A grave side memorial is scheduled for Monday October 3rd at 1:00 pm at St Mary's Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Cort-Lanes. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tommy's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Riccardi Funeral Home, Cortland, N.Y.
