Thomas Appel Obituary

Died unexpectedly Friday, February 14th, 2025, at the age of 80 with his daughters by his side. Preceded in death by Sharon Appel, his loving wife of 35 Years. Loving father of Sara and Rachael. Uncle Duncle to Ashley Speier. Tom held a special place in his heart for his loving cousins Robert Otto, Ronald Witt and Debbie Witt Johnston. Also loved by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tom was the only child of Philip and Eleanor Appel. A graduate of Washington High School, Tom went on to earn his associate degree in accounting. He met his wife Sharon at a singles dance, and they were married in 1972. Tom had a lengthy career in accounts payable, including time working for Manpower, Bielinski Builders, and Extendicare. But his most entertaining job by far was his time spent as an usher at County Stadium and eventually Miller Park. Tom spent 27 summers cheering on his beloved Brewers from the stands and helping fans locate their seats. He met many wonderful people and enjoyed talking to each one of them.
Tom was a fan of all Wisconsin sports and never missed a Packer game. He spent many a Sunday rooting for the green and gold with friends and family. He enjoyed bowling, fishing up north, and trying his luck at the casino. Tom was a daily reader of the newspaper and was often seen with his head in a James Patterson book. Tom was known and loved for his bad dad jokes, his pronunciation of the word sophomore, and his interesting fashion sense.
"Pops, you will always be loved, remembered, and missed. So, for how he liked to end every conversation throughout the baseball season, GO Brewers!"
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial to be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park on Monday, March 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM.

This says "add a memory" and I have too many to list. I have gratitude for the love and generosity of the Appel family, and as I think of you all frequently, this is now about Tom. In the days to come, you girls will have good and bad moments. But when it comes down to it, it is love that lasts.
