Oh Tom. I've known you for about 41 years. When I met you, you lived on Pine Street in Wichita with Clay and Kenneth. I remember you bringing three bullfrog tadpoles home, putting them in the aquarium. When I asked why he did that he said "for so we can watch them grow!". We watched them, then grew bored. I was there one Sunday afternoon a few weeks later and shouted "Tom!! There are only two frogs! And they are full grown frogs! Where is the third one????" He replied, "Really? The other day ago they all still had legs!". We found that guy when we rearranged the furniture, I think for a party?? It was like a flat Stanley bullfrog, under the couch. Tom gave it a moment of peace and tossed it in the dumpster. The two frogs had meanwhile been released in the neighbors yard! The last time I saw him was about four years ago (time is so hard to estimate these days) fittingly at The Artichoke. He was there for his regular Wednesday evening. As he was leaving I hollered at him. He came and sat by me, across from my friend Colleen (who he dated for a brief second!). He seemed to remember me, although I'm not sure. I brought up fun memories from Wichita and Iola and he laughed at appropriate times. He was one of the true good men I've known in my life. God grant Tom a hero's welcome into heaven and bring all his great memories back to him. Especially of his daughter and their times together. I love you Tom! I'll see you again one day.
