Thomas Edwin Auel

Thomas Auel, 83, passed away on March 8, 2024, in Hot Springs Village Arkansas.
Tom Auel was born on October 22, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Carl and Edith Auel.
Tom graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1958 and went on to earn a BS in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. Tom was many things during his career; soldier, law enforcement officer and salesman. He started Arcon Specialties in 1974, working as a manufacturing representative for specialty chemical companies providing expert technical support for the products he represented to the masonry industry until 2000.
Tom married Gwen McGlade, his childhood sweetheart, on October 20, 1962. The couple had 3 children, David Auel, Carl Auel, and Michael Auel.
Tom enjoyed golf, woodworking, photography and spending time with his family. Of course taking the 66 league (an old german card game) championship during his first year of membership at the Teutonia Mannerchor in Pittsburgh was one of his many highlights.
Tom served in the Army and Army Reserves achieving the rank of Master Sargent. He was also proud of his service as a Law Enforcement Officer in Baldwin Township PA.
Tom is survived by his wife of 61 years Gwen Auel and his sons David, Carl, and Michael with their respective spouses Erin, Leslie and Aubrey. Also his sisters Carolea Luster and Patricia Luster of Scottsdale AZ. Tom was intensely proud of his 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

The service for Tom Auel will be held on Friday March 15, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 295 Balearic Road Hot Springs Village.
