Thomas L. Bennison, Jr, 67, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 surround by his family at his home. He was born on December 11, 1957 to Marianne M. (Ehrman) and Thomas L. Bennison Sr.
'Tom' was an amazing man who always put his family first and took special care of everyone he loved. A devoted husband to Jeannine, father to Thomas III and Craig and proud grandfather to Caleb (Shannon), Alex (Kennedy) and Brianna.
Tom was a hard worker and put his heart and soul into everything he did.
He graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1976 and enjoyed attending his class reunions every year to spend time with old friends and reconnect with classmates. Tom worked for H. J. Heinz in Fremont, Ohio for forty-four years, retiring in 2017.
Tom enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter after retirement fishing, metal detecting on the beach and enjoying his family's company. Tom was a dedicated Ohio State football, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians fan. Tom also spent his summers and fall traveling northwest Ohio with his friends to classic car shows.
Tom loved the Lord and his faith in God sustained him through his eight year battle with cancer.
Tom is survived by the love of his life and wife of forty-six years, Jeannine (Notheis) Bennison; sons Thomas III (Rachel), Fremont, Ohio, Craig (Kim), Mount Dora, Florida; grandchildren, Caleb (Shannon), Alex (Kennedy) and Brianna; sisters Carolyn (Joe) Prater, Ann (Tony) Darr, sister-in-law Margo (Gary) Scott, brothers-in-law Michael (Elizabeth) Notheis, Mark (Laura) Notheis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Marianne and Thomas Bennison Sr., grandparents Helen and George Erhman, Russell and Annette Bennison, mother-in-law Mary L. Notheis, father-in-law James R. Notheis.
Services will be private for the family.
Memorials in Tom's honor may be made to the Cancer Society.
