Thomas F. Berra Jr., known affectionately to friends and family as Tommy, passed away on March 29, 2025, at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on April 20, 1948, in Cincinnati, Tom lived a life rich with love, family, and a passion for his work and hobbies.
A dedicated member of Union Pipefitter Local 392, Tom's career was marked by his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. His educational achievements included earning an Associate's Degree, which laid the foundation for his successful career. In addition to his professional pursuits, Tom proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran, contributing to the Vietnam War effort.
Tom cherished his family traditions and holiday gatherings, creating a warm and loving environment for those around him. He was known for his kindness and had a special affection for the dogs of his family and friends. Tom loved spending time on the golf course, where many fond memories were shared with his friends.
He leaves behind his beloved sisters: Wendy (Robert Scheiner) Dattilo, Beverly (the late Mike) Barlion, Valerie Berra, Jackie (late Richard) Fischer, and Jennifer (late Robert) Briggs. Also survived by many special nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry his memory forward.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Berra Sr. and Gertrude Berra, nee Sellers, and his late brother, William (Vicki) Berra. The legacy he leaves is one of love, laughter, and treasured moments spent with family who meant the world to him.
Services to honor Tom will be held on April 8, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes, located at 3450 Lumardo Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45238. The visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass starting at 10:30 AM. A graveside service with Military Honors will take place at Saint Joseph (new) Cemetery at 11:45 AM PM.
Tom's spirit and love will remain with all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
