Thomas William Blunk

Thomas William Blunk,74, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Emory/St. Joseph's Hospital with his loving wife by his side. Tom was born on February 4, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is survived by his wife Susan Drew Blunk and his children, James William Blunk and Sara Elizabeth (Richard) Franka, and their children, Karla, Lucas, and Jacob. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Audra Blunk.
Tom graduated from Miami University, Miami, Ohio, in 1970 where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He also earned a degree in 1979 from Butler University's MBA program in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tom was a member of the Mensa Society. He worked as a health plan management consultant for local and national companies until his retirement in 2002. He moved from Indianapolis to Atlanta in 1978.
Tom generously volunteered for his son's Boy Scout troop, the Pope High School Band Parent Association (committees and treasurer), and several neighborhood committees and boards. Tom had a musical talent displayed by singing with the Immaculate Heart of Mary choir, the Kennesaw University Community & Alumni Choir, and the Michael O'Neal Singers. He loved playing the guitar and piano.
He enjoyed playing tennis, water volleyball, and white-water rafting. Tom was a voracious reader and also enjoyed his chosen hobby of woodworking.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Lakeside Funeral Home located at 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA.
