Thomas G. Bouwkamp, M.D., "Tom" of Lakeland, FL, passed away peacefully at home on

August 17, 2025.

He was 73 years old.

Born to Gerald and Phyllis Bouwkamp on January 5th, 1952, in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was

raised in Villa Park, Illinois where he flourished with his siblings and made forever friends.

His summer job as a teen was a lifeguard at the community pool. He was known as "Tom

the Guard".

Tom graduated from Willow Brook High School in 1970. Entered college at the University of

Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and medical school at the University of Illinois, Chicago.

He did his internship at Tampa General Hospital and his anesthesia residency at Hartford

Hospital where he met his wife, Kathleen.

He was married to Kathleen for 42 years and is a proud father of Jason and Lindsay, and

grandfather to four grandsons, Owen, Liam, Ronin, and Milo.

Tom practiced anesthesia for 40 years in central Florida and the Florida keys.

He loved music and played piano from the age of six years old.

Thomas is survived by his wife Kathleen; son Jason Bouwkamp; daughter Lindsay Aldous,

grandsons Owen, Liam, Ronin, and Milo; and sister Carol Monger.

He is preceded in death by his father Gerald Bouwkamp in 2012, mother Phyllis Bouwkamp

in 2017, and his brother James Bouwkamp in 2023.

Tom will be missed by his family and friends for his humor and kindness.
