Thomas W. Brewer, 89, of Bedford, passed away on August 29, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was born on June 24, 1936, in Washington County, Indiana, to the late Preston and Alfretta (Wheeler) Brewer. On January 1, 1955, he married Lena Smith, who preceded him in death in 2004.

Thomas worked as a sheet metal worker for Union Sheet Metal Workers Local 20 and was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bedford. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and he was often the life of the party.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Tanya (Rick) Clark and Melissa Abner; grandchildren, Ryan (Na'Kia) Clark, Riley Clark, Sophia Abner, Claudia Abner, and Claire Abner; one great grandson, Khyaire Clark; and brother, Hillis Brewer.

Preceding Tom in death was his wife, Lena Brewer; parents, Preston and Alfretta Brewer; brother, Bob Brewer; and son-in-law, Pleas Abner.

Services for Tom will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes, 818 18th Street, Bedford, Indiana 47421 with Pastor Phil Thorne officiating. Burial will follow at the Leesville Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by the Honor Guard of the Gillen Post 33, American Legion. Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m., at Ferguson-Lee Chapel.

The staff of Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne Family Funeral Homes in Bedford is honored to have been entrusted with the care and arrangements for Mr. Brewer.
