Isaiah 40:31 But they wait upon the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Thomas Luvaughn Brown, affectionately known as Tommy, was born on January 28, 1948, in Mobile, AL, to the late Rufus Leon Brown and Sovolia Purdue Brown. Tommy grew up in the Mississippi City community and was a graduate from Thirty-Third Avenue High School. After high school, he began working for National Shirt Shop for many years. He later worked as a truck driver, part-time at the Edgewater Hotel, and for Yellow Cab Services before retiring. Tommy joined the First Missionary Baptist Church of Hansboro as a young man. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and studying the word of God, going to church, and family.

His life reflected his love for God, his family, and his community. He walked in faith, spoke with wisdom, and loved with a heart as steady as his hands. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving pawpaw who found joy in providing, teaching, and protecting. His quiet strength, sense of humor, and unwavering faith left an imprint on every soul he touched. He lived to serve God and to care for the people he loved most, and he did both with excellence and grace.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Sovolia Brown. Three sisters: Artis "Tossie" Lee Spears, Doris Patricia Brown, and Jane Callahan, three brothers: Harry B. Watts, Rufus "Bubba" Ray Brown, and Joseph Jerome Brown Sr.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memory of his devoted helpmate Eva Brown; two kids, Charles Johnson and Tomika Floyd; one brother, Michael Brown; grandchildren, Deshamus King, Troy Johnson, Kennadie Floyd, and Jaylah Floyd; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

We thank God for every moment we shared, every lesson he taught, and every prayer he prayed over us. A special thank you to his brother, Michael Brown, and niece Phyllis McFarlain, who were there until the very end, your love, strength, and presence meant everything.
