Linesville- Thomas E. Bussinger, 84, passed away Saturday morning, April 13, 2024 at Embassy Hermitage Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by his family.
Thomas was born on May 26, 1939 in Warren, OH, a son of the late Robert and Ruth Bussinger.
He was a 1957 graduate of Champion High School. Once out of high school, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country. While enlisted he married his wife, Eva (Saltzmann) M. Bussinger on June 28, 1958 and started their family together.
He loved to build or fix anything he could. He built and refurbished five houses and taught his children and grandchildren life-long valuable lessons. In his younger years, he would fish in Canada. He was part of the Mobile Communication Emergency Unit (MCEU) and owned Buzz’s Sohio Gas Station on Elm Road. He enjoyed taking his children to go Christmas shopping and then later spending time with his grandchildren fishing on his pontoon boat.
Thomas will be deeply missed by his loving children, Debbie Bussinger, Susan (James J. Sr.) Lipo, and Troy (Deborah) Bussinger; grandchildren, Teneice Durrant, Gabriel (Michelle) Durrant, James J. (April) Lipo Jr., Thomas (Madison) Lipo, Michael (Grace) Bussinger, and Danae (Scott) Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Nica, Joselyn, Benicio, Desmond, Addison, Avery, Elias, Milo and Leo; and a sister Barbara Bush.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eva on September 21, 2013; and sister, Betty Thomas.
There will be a memorial service at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland followed by a celebration of life later in July, because he wanted a party.
