Thomas Vincent Camille

Thomas Vincent Camille (Tom), 59, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 23. Tom was born on February 24, 1965 in Greenwood, Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helga Camille. Tom is survived by his wife of 19 years, Tanya Hughes Camille. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Bernadette Camille (John Sarisky), Robert Camille (Cindy), and Christina Camille Long; his brother-in-law, Chad Hughes and nieces and nephews Gus Camille (Nick Wicklund), Jack Camille, Lana Camille, Camille Long and Kesler Hughes.
After moving with his family several times as a child, the family eventually settled in Hendersonville, NC, where Tom graduated from high school. After high school he attended University of Alabama. Tom lived in Myrtle Beach, SC for many years where he was a PGA Golf Professional working for Myrtle Beach National golf courses. He later moved to Asheville, NC and worked at Reems Creek Golf Course and Asheville Municipal Golf Course. Even when he decided to change careers, Tom's love of golf continued throughout the remainder of his life. He played golf at least once a week until ALS prevented him from doing so. After leaving Asheville Municipal Golf Course, Tom was the General Manager of Pop's Discount Building Materials until March, 2024.
Tom loved life and was always ready for a travel adventure. Whether that meant visiting family in Austria, traveling up and down the California coast to play golf and tour vineyards, or simply getting away to the lake or beach whenever possible with his beloved dogs. Tom never turned down a good Old Fashioned, a cold German beer, a chance to watch the Cubs play baseball, or Alabama play football. Roll Tide!
Tom bravely fought his battle with ALS and lived his life to the absolute fullest up until his very last days. He is gone too soon and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
