A native of Pickens County; a son of the late J. B. and Ruby Brown Chapman; he was the last surviving member of his immediate family and a retired mechanic.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Wood Chapman of the home; a daughter, Kimberley C. Edens of Greer; a granddaughter, Leslie Sims Smith (Andrew); a great-granddaughter, Elina Smith and another great-granddaughter on the way.
A private service will be held.
