Thomas F. Collins III, 82, of Quincy MA, passed away on September, 20th 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born on July 31, 1943 to parents Thomas F. Collins Jr. and Marion Collins at Quincy Hospital. After graduating from Archbishop Williams High School in 1961, he went on to Northeastern University where he studied finance. Upon graduating, he started his first job at Colonial Federal Savings Bank, kickstarting a 40 year career at many major financial institutions.

In 1960, on a warm summer night at Merrymount Beach in Quincy, Tom met the love of his life, Annalee. They went on to have two sons, Matthew and Timothy. They raised the boys in the Merrymount neighborhood of Quincy where Tom had also grown up.

Tom was a stronghold in the community, having lived there his entire life. A true son of Merrymount.Tom was also an avid skier. Having made thousands of runs from the White Mountains of New Hampshire to the near-perfect silhouette of The Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps. Tom had a passion for hockey. He coached his sons at Quincy Youth Hockey for years. He bragged that he had watched tens of thousands of games. In his later years, nothing made him happier than watching his grandson Brett play youth and high school games.

Tom also loved to cook. He was a self taught master chef. Hosting and cooking for their friends and family brought Annalee and Tom tremendous joy. Tom was a former president of the board of directors at South Shore Mental Health. He was also a Trustee at Thayer Academy in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Tom retired in 2010. Trading in his banker suits for the smooth greens and lush fairways of Granite Links. He was proud to be an early original member of the course. Playing and laughing with the fellas since the course opened, Granite Links was truly his happy place.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Annalee Collins; his children, Matthew Collins and Timothy Collins; daughter-in-law, Deborah Collins; brother, John (Jack) Collins; and his beloved grandson, Brett Collins.
