Robert Collins Obituary
Rob was born on January 16, 1956, in Grove City PA to parents Robert Joseph Jr and Martha " Lee" Collins. Of the places Rob lived, one of his favorites was New Castle, PA. His dad coached high school sports, including baseball, where Rob was the official scorekeeper at age 8. Later, his family moved to Hooksett, NH. Rob attended Manchester Central High School and was an honor student and outstanding athlete. He graduated from Lafayette College with his degree in English and History.He was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta from which he gained many lifelong friends. Rob had a successful career as a National Sales Manager for a major company and had been living in Ponte Vedra, FL. for over 30 years.
Despite many years of health challenges, Rob never complained or gave up. He was an avid sports fan and faithfully followed his beloved Boston Red Sox through good times and bad. He had the once in a lifetime experience of being at Fenway on 10/23/04 during the World Series. This was the year the Sox "broke the curse"! He was also a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had worked for the Jags organization and made many friends in that chapter of his life. He was an encyclopedia of sports trivia and was known as "Yaz" on a sports talk show in FL.
Rob is survived by his parents of Auburn,NH. He also leaves behind his sister, Bonnie Boucher and her husband, Norm of Auburn NH. Rob loved his family and was an especially proud uncle to Brendan, Megan, and Moira and to his 6 great nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed by his entire family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, Dec.30, 2023 at The Congregational Church of Hooksett, 5 Veterans Dr. Hooksett NH 03106
