With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Thomas R. Confer, who left this world on March 11, 2025, following an 18-month battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Thom faced his illness with courage, never fearing what lay ahead, and now he rests in peace, watching over us from above.
Thom was a loving father and proud grandfather. He cherished his family above all and was a source of strength, wisdom, and kindness to those around him.
Throughout his life, Thom wore many hats - teacher, coach, athlete, entrepreneur, scientist, and mentor. He touched countless lives with his generosity, passion for learning, and unwavering support for others.
Thom was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jean Confer.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Confer, son, Brendon (Kayla) Confer; daughter, Caelainn Confer; granddaughter, Maeve Confer; and siblings, Patrick Confer, Janice (Don) Szymanski, Marcia (Bob) Peters, and Moira Confer. He will also be deeply missed by his three nieces and four nephews.
A private burial service will be held to honor Thom's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Vianney/St. Isidore's Garden - checks should be mailed with a note stating, "In memory of Thom Confer" to 420 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
"Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28
Thom will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
