Thomas Conway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors on Jan. 2, 2026.
Thomas John Conway Jr. of Amelia Island passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Baptist Emergency Center, North in Jacksonville.
Mr. Conway was born in Bridgeport, Ct. and was the son of the late Thomas J. Conway and Beulah Strasburger Conway. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Ann Conway; stepsons Ronald R. Ricchi Jr. and Raymond R. Ricchi and a large extended family of six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law Gary and Patricia Conway of Port Wentworth, Ga.
At age 11 he moved with his family from Newtown, Ct. To Emmaus, PA. He graduated from Penn State University in 1964 and attended the Navy Officer Candidate School in RI. Mr. Conway served for 4 years and was honorably discharged from active service in 1969. He went on to serve in the Navy Reserve for several more years rising to the rank of LCDR.
Mr. Conway started his career with RCA and continued with General Electric after they purchased RCA. He spent his whole career in Human Resources at the plant level with RCA in Pa. and at corporate headquarters with GE in Ct. When he retired he was a Director of Benefits and Pensions.
After retirement he and his wife moved to Amelia Island full time. Since then he has pursued doing what he loved, like spending time with family and especially doting on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Conway loved golf and played a couple times per week. Also he and his wife were avid travelers, visiting every continent including Antarctica with multiple trips to many of them. Most of these trips included some time in nature, which was a life long interest of his.
Mr. Conway will be laid to rest, with military honors, as part of a graveside service at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Wednesday January 7, 2026 at 12:30 PM.
