Thomas Clayton Crowell, 76, of Alexander City, passed away on February 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and a life fully lived.

Known to his friends as Tom or T.C., he was a devout Catholic whose faith guided his life and grounded his values. His devotion was quiet but steadfast, reflected in the way he treated others-with kindness, loyalty, and compassion.

Tom was a man who truly loved life. Whether he was on the golf course, in the cockpit of a plane, under the hood of a car, or listening to his favorite country music, he found joy in the moments that made life rich. He had a passion for flying, a talent for fixing just about anything, and a deep appreciation for good friends and good conversation. He embraced each day with enthusiasm and was happiest when surrounded by those he cared about.

Above all else, he loved his family. He is survived by his daughter, Alice Benefield; her husband, Shannon; and his beloved grandchildren, Camryn and Parker, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Nora Kelly and Cathy Tidwell; his brother, AJ Crowell; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Mary Crowell; his sister, Marie Crowell; and his brother, Patrick Crowell.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tom's honor to the Tom Crowell Memorial Flying Fund, C/O Brown Aero, 965 T.C Russell Drive, Alexander City, AL, 35010. (Checks should be made out to Brown Aero with Tom Crowell Memorial Fund in the memo line).
