Thomas "Tom" J. Davis, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished papa, passed away on September 9, 2024, at the age of 75 in West Harrison, Indiana. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 20, 1948, to John and Eleanor Davis (nee O'Brien). Tom will be dearly missed by his beautiful wife of 51 years, Missi Davis, his children Alyisha (Kevin) Metz and Adam (Alli) Davis, and his five beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Norah, Mitchell, and Carter, his sister Dianne, his dog Ellie and four grand dogs, Bo, Bella, Buck and Archie. As well as other extended family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Jack Davis.
Throughout Toms remarkable life he wore many hats, he dedicated 35 years of service to Ohio Hydraulics where he worked alongside his father, significantly growing the company's assets. After retirement from Ohio Hydraulics, he started Eagle Creek Industries, then proceeded to work at Bernecker Trucking, Buttlewerth Stove Shop and then drove cars for Enterprise.
Tom was a proud 1967 graduate of Roger Bacon High School, enjoyed breakfast and golf with his close buddies every Wednesday mornings for as long as he could and the monthly luncheons with his childhood friends from St. Margaret Mary school. Tom was a pure delight to be around, especially when you were not the focus of his jokes, as he was a well-known practical joker.
In earlier years, Tom found enjoyment in camping, horseback riding, and recreational boating on the Ohio River and Lake Cumberland where he met everlasting friends. In his later years, he enjoyed mowing grass and riding his golf cart to visit neighbors on Eagle Creek. He continued his visits and grass cutting when he moved to West Harrison, Indiana, in 2021, which allowed him to be closer to family. Tom was also known for his fondness for sweet treats, especially chocolate and his sister-in-law, Jenny's lemon meringue pie. He was no stranger to good bourbon, a tequila shot, or a cold Coors Light.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Tom's life to SPCA of Cincinnati https://www.spcacincinnati.org/ or Loving Hearts Hospice https://www.lovingheartshospice.com/location/.
Join us in celebrating the life of Thomas J. Davis at his upcoming memorial service, with a Visitation scheduled at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:30 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 pm. Graveside Service to immediately follow in the Garden of Meditation.
In remembrance of a life well-lived and filled with joy, Tom's legacy of humor, camaraderie, and hard work will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
