Thomas "Tom" Warren Davis, 58, passed away Monday, June 16th, at his home. Tom was the son of Patricia Davis Kitchen and the late Coach Bobby Davis of Chattanooga. He was a 1985 graduate of Cleveland High School. He went on to further his education at Cleveland State Community College and MTSU. Tom, affectionately known by his friends as "Tommy D," enjoyed his career in restoring and construction of residential and commercial properties. Tom was an avid fan of the Tennessee Vols and all other sports. Tom's life was especially enriched by his trusted K-9 companions "Smoke," "Ash," and "Blackie." His favorite pastime was spent with his daughter decorating for Christmas, both inside and outside his home, preparing firework shows for his family on the Fourth of July, and embarking on personal construction projects.
Tom was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Margaret Grubb of Decatur; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Boyd Davis, his father Coach Bobby Davis, his aunt Sally Davis Campbell, his uncle, Tommy Davis, his sister, Roxanne Davis Wooten, and step- father, Dr. D.K. Kitchen.
Tom is survived by his beloved partner, Marcella Rogers, and daughter Colbie Davis, his mother, Patricia Davis Kitchen, his brothers, Glenn Davis (Bev), Chip Davis (Dee), sister, Desha Maples, brother in law, Dr. L.E. Wooten, and aunt, Jaqueline Watson. Also left to cherish his memory are his nieces, Sarah Byrd (Jared), Kendall Davis, Maggie and Allie Maples, great niece and nephew, Emma and Ryan Byrd, cousin, Dr. Tannahill Keymer, Kelly Shamblin and several other beloved family members.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, June 28th from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary and the celebration of life will immediately follow at 2:00 pm
In lieu of flowers the family ask that any donations you wish to make be made to the SPCA, The Ark of Cleveland or a charity of your choice.
