Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, August 25, 2025, Thomas Carl Davis, 74, loving husband of fifty-four years to Kaye Davis.
Tommy was avid reader with an impressive personal library. His love of books led him to write his opinion of the book on the inside of every cover. He loved fishing, especially trout fishing. He was dedicated to researching his family’s ancestry. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf and was privileged to play at the Augusta National several times. He was a collector of many eclectic things and enjoyed building and refurbishing items. You rarely saw him without a hat on and his hair in a ponytail. His favorite TV stations were the local news stations, the Golf Channel, the Weather Channel, the History channel and whatever channel was playing UGA football. Most knew him as a laid back, cool dude who would give you the shirt off his back, always stood up for what was right and true, and completely melted when children were around. He was a wonderful husband, excellent father to his children, the best PaPa to his grandchildren, and a great friend. He left his mark on the world, and he did it his way. He was one of a kind, The Man, The Myth, and The Legend whose name was Tommy Davis.
In addition to his wife, family members include his children: Jennifer Leigh Biddle and Taylor Carl Davis (Jessica); grandchildren: Jackson Davis, Kayleigh Biddle, Tabb Davis, and Brighton Davis; brothers: James Davis, Jr. (Lydia) and Michael Davis (Sharon).
The memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Thurman Norville officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
