Thomas DePue Obituary
He was born August 26, 1943 in Easton, PA son of the late Richard Masters and Ruth (Pensyl) DePue. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Richard S. DePue. He married Therese A. Shaunessy who preceded him in death on January 17, 2004.
Surviving are his three sons, Thomas J. DePue and wife Andrea of DuBois, Brian P. DePue and his wife Sondra of Carmichaels, and Michael T. DePue of Altoona; three grandsons, Tyler Kramer, Andrew (Cassandra) Beck and Aaron DePue; two great-grandchildren, Raegan and AJ Beck; and sister, Cindy Richard of Sinking Spring, PA.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James F. DePue and sister, Betty Jane Weidlick.
Mr. DePue was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona where he served as an usher for many years. He was a 1961 graduate of Pen Argyl High School in Pen Argyl, PA where he played football. He was retired from United Parcel Service in 2006 after 30 years of service, earning numerous safe driving awards. He served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970 as a staff sergeant. He was a past president of the Altoona Traffic Club as well. He loved his family and spent his spare time golfing, playing catch with his boys and supporting them in all of their activities. He was known in the neighborhood for his unstoppable hook shot. He spent the last few years in DuBois at Christ the King Manor where he was cared for spectacularly.
Friends and family will be received Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, Msgr. Stanley B. Carson celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be directed to either Christ the King Manor Auxiliary, 1100 West Long Ave., DuBois PA 15801 or Samaritans Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
