After a valiant battle with multiple myeloma cancer, Thomas Eric Derowitsch, 53, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 under hospice care in Aurora, Colorado. He was born on July 18, 1970 in Dodge City, Kansas to Lloyd and Donna (Cline) Derowitsch. He had a twin brother, Timothy, and a younger brother, Chad. As an adult, Tom also joined an additional family including Virgil, Patrick, Tori, John, Donna, Rob, Christy, Joy & Allison.
Thomas graduated from Bucklin High School in 1988 and moved to Garden City, Kansas. He later relocated to Lake Havasu City, Arizona and later Tucson, Arizona. Tom worked as a printing plate mounter, a correctional officer and as an auto body painter. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail.
One measure of Tom's life can be seen by the impact he had on those around him. The tears and well wishes shared by family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances and co-workers are beyond measure and reflect the kindness and gentleness he shared.
Thomas had a passion for chocolate, fast cars, motorcycle riding, fishing and playing the piano. He also adored weiner dogs and had several of them as pets throughout his life. He was a kind, generous and fun-loving person who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
His twin brother, Tim, will remember him for the countless adventures they shared growing up including mimicking Superman and Spiderman, stick fights and cruising the galaxy in the latest Star Wars adventure. The bonds between twins is special, and though Tom has moved on, Tim will forever carry Tom with him and continue to share the latest adventures with him.
Several celebrations of life services will be held including a memorial in San Pedro, California where he will be honored for his faithful service to the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Arizona Division 10 and the Tucson and Lake Havasu City Flotillas.
