Thomas Durbec Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 20, 2026.
Thomas "Tom" Anthony Durbec, 76, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on January 17th, 2026, surrounded by family.

Tom was born on July 9th, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Edward Durbec. Tom was a lively, sarcastic, generous, and hardworking man who loved his family dearly. He made sure they always had a bag of candy from the gas station and scratchers. He married his sweetheart, Ceceila Harmeyer, on September 21st, 1968, and they were married for fifty-eight wonderful years.

Tom and Ceceilia had two children and four granddaughters. Tom was an amazing grandfather who loved attending his granddaughter's sporting events, dance recitals, and art shows, no matter how far or how long it took. Tom worked for Kahn's for 39 years and worked for 10 years at Ohio Hydraulics. Tom was an avid fisherman and loved making trips to Wisconsin with his friends to sit out on the lake and float around.

Tom is survived by his wife, Ceceilia Durbec, his daughter Dawn (Dave) Klein, his son Todd (Dawn) Durbec, his granddaughters Emily (Malachai) Klein-Price, Alysa Klein, Josephine (Brody Gray) Durbec, and Gabrielle Durbec, and his brothers Butch Durbec and Dan Durbec. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Edward Durbec and brother, Paul Durbec.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in honor of Tom can be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Cincinnati Chapter by visiting https://www.alz.org/cincinnati.

I like to say a few words about Tom actually I could probably talk for a month. We were good friends, great friends in school and through life. He was a good good man a real good friend of mine. Dale Brock reminded me yesterday that he played football with us for FOP that 1963 and 1964 Tom and I went to junior high together. He was always quiet and always had a great smile. We lost a great person. He and his brother Eddie were very very close. Tommy just went through some hard times with his wife seal so I just want you to know that we will surely miss him the guys from English Woods and the girls at our luncheon and our picnics so Tom we will see you soon, brother we love you. This is Larry King God bless you, brother.
