Thomas Arthur Esch of Eagle passed away September 17, 2023 just three weeks after his wife of over 52 years, Jacalyn (Cochran) passed away. Tom was born October 6, 1949 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Francis and Lorraine (Cook) Esch. He graduated from Grand Ledge High School in the Class of 1968 and worked for the State of Michigan as a Supervisor maintaining the state police vehicle fleet. Tom enjoyed building things and working with his hands so after retirement he owned and operated his own company, Esch Construction. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and looked forward to trout fishing and deer camp every fall. Tom loved his family and looked forward to spending time with them on camping trips, family gatherings, holidays, and special occasions.
He is survived by his sons, Scott (Jeanne) Esch and Bill (Vickie) Esch; grandchildren, Rachael Hinds, Ashleigh Esch, Kyle Hinds, Dillon Esch, Amy Jo Esch and Brady Esch; siblings, Theresa (Ed) Shivley, Linda (Russ) Russell, Kathleen (Thomas) Leitz, Karen (Scott) Eavey, John (Leah) Esch and Mark (Elizabeth) Esch. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Jacalyn Esch; daughter, Amy Esch; and nephew, Gerrit Esch.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 22, 2023, 12:00 pm at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge with Father James Eisele, officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.
