Thomas C. Field, 78, of Aiken, SC, passed away on January 11, 2026 in Augusta, GA. Born in the Lehigh Valley, he was the son of Grant B. Field Sr and Viola E. Brisiel.
Tom is survived by his wife, Donna, of Aiken, SC, brother Grant B. Field Jr, Northampton, PA, daughter Laurie Ward (Jason), York, PA, son Tom A. Field (Stephanie), Syracuse, NY, as well as grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Jeff, June, and Shirley.
Tom grew up in Orefield, PA and his family had a summer cabin at Lake Wallenpaupack. He was a 1966 graduate of Parkland High School, Allentown, and a 1970 graduate of Elizabethtown College where he was on the wrestling team. He earned his Masters Degree in Education from East Stroudsburg University. Tom was first a teacher for Whitehall School District in the Lehigh Valley. He taught 4th and 5th grades in Honesdale School District until retirement. For many years he coached wrestling.
Active in Boy Scouting since youth, Tom was involved with Boy Scout Troop 129 in Paupack for over 20 years, where he also served as Scoutmaster. He volunteered for the Boy Scouts at both the local and district level and earned the Silver Beaver Award. For many summers he was the camp director for Goose Pond Scout Reservation and a lifeguard at Lords Valley Country Club.
Tom enjoyed sailing, swimming, Scrabble, and golfing. While in Pennsylvania, he attended Paupack United Methodist Church and was a member of the Tafton Fire Company EMS. After marrying his wife Donna in 2016, they moved to South Carolina where they enjoyed caring for their adored pets.
A Celebration of Thomas’s Life will be scheduled for a later date in Pennsylvania.
