Wantage Twp., NJ: Thomas "Tom" Friedberg, 59 years old, passed away after a long illness at Newton Medical Center, Newton, NJ on Friday, March 21, 2025. Born to James and Marie Friedberg in Newton, NJ, he had lived in Sparta before moving to Wantage in 1991.
Tom was a graduate of Sparta High School and received his AA from Upsala College. He worked as a Senior Field Representative for Verisk of Jersey City, NJ for 25 years retiring in 2024. Tom enjoyed traveling, target shooting, watching John Wayne, cops and robbers and action-packed movies. He was always there to lend a hand as an active volunteer. Thomas was a doting husband, father and grandfather.
Tom is predeceased by a brother, James Friedberg and is the beloved husband for 34 years of Diane Friedberg(nee Rome) of Wantage Twp., NJ. Devoted father of Amanda Tross and her husband, Michael of Parsippany, NJ and Nicole Baran and her husband, Alexander of Carthage, NC. Loving grandfather of James E. Baran. Dear brother of his twin sister, Regina Pera, Colleen Cress and Eric Friedberg.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, NJ on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 4-8 PM. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Sussex, NJ. Memorial gifts to the Sussex American Legion Post 213, P.O. Box 447, Sussex, NJ 07461 or Sussex Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, 25 Loomis Avenue, Sussex, NJ 07461 would be greatly appreciated.
