Thomas Michael Fritz

Together Again

Thomas Michael Fritz, age 94, of Canton, Ohio, returned to his heavenly home in the early

hours of Thursday, June 12, 2025. He was surrounded by the love of his family and bathed

in the prayers of those who loved him. He was born in Louisville, Ohio on February 8, 1931

to the late Wade and Marie (Brison) Fritz. He was the beloved husband of his late wife, Alice

(Bresson) Fritz for 66 years until her death on October 2, 2016. After she passed, he said

that he had only loved one woman and there would be no other. Father of P. J. (Sylvia) Fritz,

Annie Fritz and Scott (Dorothy) Fritz. Grampy to Ashley (Fritz) Leonard and Great Grampy to

Conor Champine. Preceded in death by sons, Michael Fritz and Matthew Fritz as well as

siblings Ladine McGirr, Calvin Fritz and Ronald Fritz. Honorary 'Uncle Tom' to the many

children who loved him and Alice.

He and Alice enjoyed many years of attending Notre Dame football games at their home

stadium in Indiana with her siblings and their spouses. One of their shared passions was

following the NASCAR circuit. That included the Daytona 500, Charlotte, the Poconos,

Michigan and Talladega. They also enjoyed many other sports.

He was employed by Consolidated Freightways at the time of his retirement as a longdistance

truck driver. In his driving career he never caused an accident. Prior to that, as a

high school student, he worked in the Hartville swamps to support his family. He then

worked at Republic Steel and Motor Cargo. As a young parent, he worked part time as a

carpenter, too. He had a very strong work ethic. After retirement he liked to travel with his

wife and putter around in the yard and his workshop, reading and watching TV. He was

always available to help neighbors to fix or build something or by mowing their yards.

The family wishes to thank their wonderful neighbors and friends who helped him

immensely when he could no longer care for everything at home. In his final months, he

received great care from the staff at Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 19, 2025, 5-7pm at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home, 303 S. Chapel St., Louisville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, 10:00 am, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 2024 Diamond St. NE, Canton.

Burial at St. Louis Cemetery, Louisville. In lieu of flowers, consider
