On Friday, March 21, 2025, Thomas “Tom” Joseph Gramil, of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully with family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bernadine “Herman” Gramil; loving children, David T. Gramil and his wife, Vicki, Jonathan J. Gramil and his wife, Diane, Matthew C. Gramil and his wife, Bree; and devoted grandchildren, Grace, Johnny, Christopher and Emma. He was a caring uncle to Jeri Gramil, Teri Hall and her husband, Michael; and a dear brother-in-law to Caroline Gramil. He will also be missed by many loving family and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his brother, George Gramil, Jr.; parents, Frances and George Gramil, Sr.; and nephew, Richard Gramil.

Born and raised in Baltimore City, Tom was a proud graduate of Patterson High School where he played high school football and formed lasting friendships that he cherished throughout his life. After finishing high school, Tom went on to serve in the Marine Corps, where he displayed unwavering dedication, honor and served his Country proudly with the rank of Sergeant. His time in the service shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and pride that remained with him throughout his life.


After his service, Tom continued his passion for football by playing at Montana State University. He later completed his college studies and proudly graduated from the University of Baltimore, where he earned his degree and laid the foundation for a successful future with the state of Maryland.


Tom and Bernadine moved to Glen Burnie in 1969 and are original owners in the Southgate community. During his free time Tom enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, watching the grandchildren play sports, and working on household projects. Tom was a fan of Maryland college sports, the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles.
