Thomas Lee Gray, age 75, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday morning, November 22, 2025 at his home under the care of his loving family and Corewell Health Hospice. Tom was born on December 29, 1949 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was a graduate of Central Lake High School.

On November 11, 1989, Tom married Deborah Jean (Shears), and together they raised six children and enjoyed 36 years of marriage.

Tom worked at Steelcase for many years and later retired from Bradford-White. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family, eating anything chocolate, and his favorite vacationing in Las Vegas. He was so well loved by everyone around him. His sense of humor was shown by the pranks he liked to play and jokes he continued to make into his final days.

Tom was a kind hearted man who always looked out for his family and friends. His reliability and kindness made him an invaluable friend and family member. Tom’s ability to always find a way to help in any situation is a rare and admirable quality that had a significant impact on the lives of those around him.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Gray & Hazel (Gould) Mezwicki; two brothers, Gerald Gray and Wayne Gray; two sisters, Beverly Barnard and Marilyn Norman; and a son, Zachary Gray.

Tom will be missed by his surviving family, wife Deborah Gray; their children, Michelle & Nate Fryar, Rachael Driesens & Tim Stolicker, Phillip & Cyra Dewey, Debra & Aaron Fuller, and Drake Gray; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters. Carol VanVelsen and Mary Anes; along with many more extended family members and friends

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Saint Mark Lutheran Church, 1934 52nd Street S.E., Kentwood. Instead of flowers, he would have appreciated contributions in his memory to Saint Mark Lutheran Church or Corewell Health Hospice.
