Thomas Young Harrington, 84, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Lillington, North Carolina, on November 13, 1940 to the late William and Carrie Harrington. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Harrington; sister, Governess Marie Harrington; nephew, Herman Harrington; and his long-time girlfriend, Marina Brekhounets.
Thomas was very interested in automotive technology and enjoyed electric cars, driving fast cars, and riding his motorcycle. He also like to travel and work on houses. He leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his nephew, Hiram Harrington (Sonji); niece, Doris Kirkland; great-nephews, Shaqore Harrington and Jaylin Harrington; great-nieces, Shakena Corbett, Eboni Corbett and Hadara Harrington; great-great nieces, Maci Harrington and Malani Harringtong; and Marina’s children, Akady Apelchuck and Vlademar Blankhouse.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with military honors.
