Thomas Robert Hart, 85, of Crescent City, FL, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at his home.
Born July 22, 1940 he was the son of the late Robert Lockwood Hart and Edith Rearden Hart,
Tom grew up near Vance, where he farmed for much of his early life. He graduated from Holly Hill High School (1958) and Clemson University (1965) and served in the United States Army Reserves. After moving to Florida, he continued to farm and also worked as a truck driver and an auto mechanic. Tom was a former member of Corinth Baptist Church at Vance, where he served as deacon and treasurer. In the early 1970s, he helped form the Holly Hill Rescue Squad.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert Lockwood Hart, Jr.
Tom is survived by his children, Mary Klugh Hart (Andrew Kratter) of Gainesville, FL, Julia Hart Warwick (Brian) of Palatka, FL, Thomas Robert Hart, Jr. of Sneads Ferry, NC, James Tindal Hart (Lori) of Daniel Island, SC and Lynn Hart Odenweller (Ian) of Winter Haven, a brother, John Lockwood Hart (Frances Arden) of Vance, and 7 grandchildren, Danielle Clifton, Robert Warwick, Gabby Hart, James Hart, Thomas Hart, Samantha Tart, and Chris Rowe.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Corinth Baptist Church, Vance, South Carolina, followed by a visitation in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Ferris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605 or Corinth Baptist Church, PO Box 69, Vance, SC 29163.
