Thomas Errol Hauser
September 29th, 1942 - January 1st, 2026
Thomas Errol Hauser, age 83, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 1, 2026.
He was born September 29, 1942 in Gloversville, the son of the late Lloyd Hauser and Helen Cerrone Hauser.
Thomas was a graduate of Johnstown High School and the Philadelphia Technical Institute in Philadelphia, with a degree in drafting. He worked for New Jersey area contractors designing plans for building construction for several years before returning to Fulton County. There he continued to work for area contractors creating building plans by hand (no CAD or computer programs). He spent the last twenty years of his career with the New York State Office of General Services Design and Construction Group in Albany as an architectural estimator.
On August 18, 1967, he married the love of his life, Karen Way. They shared 52 years alongside one another before her passing in 2019. His hobby was taking care of and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed their annual vacations to ocean locations along the East Coast each summer and fishing each weekend on the Sacandaga. Many will remember him as the welcoming face at the admission desk at the Sports Card Shows and Adirondack Outdoorsman Shows in Johnstown.
He is survived by his three sons Michael (Lori), Gregory and Jeffrey Hauser; seven grandchildren Kerri Ann Early (Jake), Katie (Tim), Austin (Brittany), Ann, Emily (Joseph), Jacob (Krista) and Abigail Hauser, sister Marilyn Muzzi, brother in-laws Robert (Mildred) & Christopher Way, and sister in-laws Debbie (Tony) Roy and Sharon Way, and several nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Hauser, and daughter in-law Nicole Hauser.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5pm to 8pm, Tuesday January 6, 2026 at A.G. Cole Funeral Home, 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am on Wednesday January 7, 2026 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main Street, Gloversville, with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.
Interment will take place in the spring at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
