Thomas R. Hayden

Thomas R. Hayden, 82, of Wallingford, loving husband of Betty (Landry) Hayden, passed away December 24, 2025 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Tom was born in Meriden on May 1, 1943, a son of the late Raymond and Catherine (Gaffney) Hayden.
Tom worked for the Town of Wallingford Electric Division for 37 years until he retired. When his children were young, he coached youth soccer and was an assistant Boy Scout leader. He loved hiking and camping with the Troop. He volunteered for many years overnight at the Wallingford Emergency Shelter. A lifelong resident of Wallingford, he attended Holy Trinity School and Lyman Hall High School before joining the United States Air Force. When He was stationed in Louisiana he met the love of his life, Betty. They were happily married and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Hayden-Weiner and her husband, Kenneth; his son, Sean Hayden and his wife Celeste; his granddaughter, Brigid Weiner: and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan Hayden, his twin brother, Terrence Hayden, his brother Richard and his sisters, Faye Dubois and Ann Tilley.
Tom's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 4 pm until 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
