Thomas Heenan Obituary

Mr. Thomas John Heenan, Jr., affectionately known by all as Pappy, passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on March 1, 1951, to the late Thomas John Heenan, Sr. and Mildred Heenan.
Pappy was a proud veteran, having served in the United States Marines for three years. His time in the service instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. Following his military service, he dedicated 25 years to Meade, where he was respected by his colleagues for his strong work ethic and amiable nature.
Family was the cornerstone of Pappy's life. He was a loving husband to his late wife of over 30 years, Joanne "Big Sexy" Heenan, with whom he shared a bond that was a testament to enduring love and partnership. He was a caring father to his children, John "John Boy" Heenan (April "The Warden" Fondren), Shannon Rowe (Keybo Rush), and was predeceased by his beloved daughter Shannon Heenan. Pappy's role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, sharing his love and wisdom with his grandchildren, Briannah "Bri Bri" "Sugar" Heenan, Jase Heenan, Lexi "Sexy Cowgirl" Cruz (Justin "Cowboy"), Derek "Dirk" Cruz (Jackie "The Wife"), Alyssa "Brown Eyed Girl" Cruz (Jake "Nature Boy"), Alaya "Sunshine" Cruz (Ethan), Alexis "Bin Laden" Rowe, Morgan "Captain Morgan" Rowe, Carly "Little Bit" Rowe, and his great-grandchildren, Weston "Monk" Michael Cruz, Colton "Colt Colt" Keith Cruz, and Maggie May "Bright Eyed Girl" Brooklyn. He was also a brother to his siblings Frank Heenan (Carmela), Jim Heenan (Lori), Patrick Heenan (Kathy), Mary Cybak (George), Carol "Precious" Molovich (Kevin) and Patsy Lockard (George), and was predeceased by his sister Judy Eames. Pappy was an uncle, a great-uncle, and a friend to many more, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Pappy's love for sports was evident through his unwavering support for Penn State, the Eagles, and the Falcons and rooting against the Ga Bulldogs. His passion for football was matched only by his love for singing karaoke, hunting, and giving everyone he knew a unique nickname that often stuck for life. Pappy's presence at Tubby Tom's, which he endearingly dubbed Tommy Tubb's, was a source of joy for his friends and family. It was there that he would regale his companions with stories, songs, and the kind of good-humored banter that made everyone feel at home.
His love for his siblings was profound, and the bonds he shared with each of them were built on a foundation of mutual respect, support, and endless fun. Pappy's circle of very close friends, including Bobbsey 1, Bobbsey 2, Clack, Mexican Goddess, Sweet Jeanna, Swivel Hips, Snowflake, John Gotti, and Hot Mama, will remember him as the life of the party, the one who could always be counted on for a good time and a hearty laugh.
Pappy's love for the ladies was part of his charm; he appreciated their company and enjoyed making them smile. His ability to light up a room with his presence will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Funeral Services for Pappy will be at 2 o'clock, Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
